Copa America: Brilliant Peru Knock Chile Out

Chile’s hopes of winning a third successive Copa America are over after a heavy 3-0 defeat against an impressive Peru in Porto Alegre on Wednesday.

First-half goals from Edison Flores and Yoshimar Yotun, along with Paolo Guerrero’s late sealer, dashed La Roja’s dreams of equalling Argentina’s record of three consecutive continental triumphs and sent Peru through to their first final since 1975.

Though they only reached the knockout rounds as one of the group stage’s two best third-placed teams, Ricardo Gareca’s Peru were superior throughout and now face hosts Brazil in Sunday’s decider at the Maracana.

Chile’s humiliation was complete when Eduardo Vargas dinked a penalty straight to Pedro Gallese at the death.

Rapper Cardi B Pleads Not Guilty to Charges in New York Strip Club Fight

Grammy Award-winning rapper Cardi B pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to felony assault charges relating to an alleged fight at a New York City strip club last year.

Pharraohworld believes that the 26-year-old performer from the Bronx borough of New York City entered the plea in an appearance at New York Supreme Court in the borough of Queens.

“Not guilty sir, honor,” Cardi B, whose real name is Belcalis Almanzar, told the judge.

The rapper surrendered to New York City police last October after a complaint claimed she was involved in a fight at the Angels NYC strip club in Queens.

“I ain’t going to jail, I got a daughter,” she declared near the end of her sold-out concert on Saturday night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Cardi B initially faced misdemeanor charges of assault and reckless endangerment, but was indicted by a grand jury on felony charges earlier this month.

According to police, the rapper got into an argument in August with two of the club’s female bartenders. She had accused one of them of having an affair with her husband, Offset, a member of the rap trio Migos, according to local media.

JAMB Aprehends 19-Year-Old for Upgrading UTME Score

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Monday evening paraded one Adah Eche, a 19-year-old admission seeker who allegedly falsified his Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) result.

Prof.Is-haq Oloyede, JAMB’s Registrar, paraded the suspect before newsmen at the board’s Headquarters in Bwari, Abuja.

NAN reports that Oloyede said that the suspect, who sat for the 2019 UTME scored 153, but decided to connive with an examination syndicate who allegedly increased his scores.

He explained that the suspect was apprehended after a delegation of Public Complaints Commission paid the board a visit following various complaints by aggrieved candidates who sat for the 2019 UTME.

“We decided to pick three out of the complainants to address their issues and he happened to be the first person we picked and he actually wrote a letter of complaint to us knowingfully well that he faked his result.

“What we did was invite him to come and pick his admission letter and he came.

“Now, what such people do not know is that we have a barcode for every result which helps us verify its authenticity, but this fake one has the barcode of a supermarket and was saying invalid barcode on our own platform.

“We have checked our own platform and seen where he has checked his result three consecutive times via 55019 and was replied same with his original result which is 153, yet he insists that he did not know the one with 290 was fake,” he said.

Eto’o Wants Mo Salah to Join Barcelona

Former Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o has urged Liverpool’s Egyptian forward Mo Salah to move to Barcelona.

ead moreSalah has been in stunning form for the Reds since joining in 2017, scoring 54 goals in 74 appearances.

He has been linked with a move to Real Madrid but 38-year-old Eto’o, who spent five years at Barcelona from 2004, said: “Barcelona would be a better fit.

“Real gave me the opportunity to leave Africa but I know Barcelona’s style and I think it would be better for him.”

Eto’o, who was taken on as youth player by Real and made three appearances for Los Blancos, added: “If he has the chance to play in the best league of the world, which is the Spanish one, he has to sign for Barcelona.

“Mo has everything to be one of the best players in the world.”

Check out the release date of probably the most awesome phone you’ll ever see in 2019

The first phone with camera hidden under the screen may be unveiled on June 26

Tucking the front camera underneath the display seems to be the Holy Grail of “bezel-less” designs, as it would require no notches, screen holes, mechanized camera popping, or other assorted solutions to the “all-screen phone” conundrum.
While we have written several times about patents pointing in that direction, it was the ever-enterprising Oppo that teased such a design not long ago. Now the teaser that you see below is ready to transform into a retail device, it seems, as Oppo has pegged June 26 for the announcement of the first phone with under-display camera.

Needless to say, we are talking about the selfie shooter here, as there is no need to hide the superior ones that are manspreading at the back of our phones. We’d argue that the under-display camera will be a love-it-or-hate-it affair, if and when it lands in an Oppo phone.
It will most likely prove to be the most superior solution when it comes to the “all-screen” design puzzle, but the most inferior when it comes to selfie quality, so we can’t wait for Oppo to take the stage at the MWC Shanghai Expo next Wednesday, and tell us what it did to tuck the selfie snapper in-between those screen pixels.
