Angola, first African Nation to build a Water Stadium

Angola becomes the first country to build a football stadium on water. The stadium was first opened over the weekend in Luanda and more than 1,000 fans attended.
The beautiful stadium cost the country in excess of $20 million and was built for six months. It’s built in such a way that even if there’s a heavy downpour, the water cannot rise to the stadium’s level.
At the edge of the stadium, there are beautiful roads where fans watch the beautiful game from. What’s amazing is that even if the ball accidentally falls in the water, there are people ready to collect it for the play to continue.

Jamb announces the date for the release of 2019 results, and a simple way to check result

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) that results will be out from April 29.
This was made known by the Board’s Head of Media and Publicity, Fabian Benjamin, in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Bwari.
“We are still screening but hopefully, anytime next week, the results will be ready,” he said.
He also revealed that the examination board was prepared to screen results of UTME candidates from 2009 to 2018 and that this will start, after the release of the 2019 results.
According to him, this was part of measures to checkmate examination malpractice in the system.
The 2019 UTME results will also undergo screening to identify and apprehend those who cheated during the examinations.
“Normally, results are expected to be out within 24 to 48 hours as obtained in previous examinations held in 2017 and 2018.
“However, the board does not want this to be business as usual.
“Hence the programmed delay, which is part of its deliberate effort to properly scrutinize, identify and address all forms of examination malpractice.
“The board will continue to act decisively with regards to any irregularity discovered even after results are released.
“However, the board has made it a point of duty to screen all activities at all centres via CCTV recordings, to ensure that it does not release results of compromised examinations.”
According to JAMB, candidates can check results when they have been officially released by sending RESULT, via SMS, to 55019 using the same number that they used for registration.
And their result would be replied as an SMS shortly after – This was to eliminate exploitation of candidates by business centres and cyber cafés.
